I live in central Louisiana with my family. I provide services in Vernon and Beauregard parishes, including Leesville, Fort Polk, DeRidder, Pitkin, Oakdale, Elizabeth, and surrounding areas. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and I am a Registered Nurse. I specialized in Pediatrics (kids) from 2007-2014. After the birth of my beautiful son (I may be slightly biased), I switched gears, and now devote my time to serving women and their families.
I am a certified Birth Boot Camp Doula and Childbirth Educator, as well as a Positive Discipline Parenting Educator. I am also the President of Louisiana Constituents for Safe Childbirth (a non-profit that supports improving birth options in Louisiana), and active in La Leche League. I’m also a breastfeeding and cloth diapering mama.
My goal is to support families through pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. To check out my classes and services visit MY Birth & Baby website. I hope you enjoy this blog. I would also love to share more positive birth stories. Contact me if you have some to share!
Hi, Maryellen!
I found your article on a cloth diapering site and am very excited to see that you are in Lafayette! I grew up in Eunice and live in Ohio now. I did not think that many people around there were interested in cloth diapering. My two daughters cloth diaper but I am the one who is really interested in it!!

Hi Rochelle! I don’t live far from Eunice. I’m actually going to start teaching some classes out of Naturally Mama, a mother and baby store that recently opened in Eunice! There is definitely a community of cloth diaperers in the area. Let me know if you have any questions 🙂
